Animal Nutrition:
We provide innovative enzyme, natural betaine and probiotic feed technologies to solve livestock and aquaculture challenges, including: 

  • Improving farm productivity and lowering feed costs;
  • Enabling safe and high-quality meat, eggs and milk at an affordable price;
  • Reducing the environmental footprint of animal production; and
  • Developing innovative tools through our pioneering research into the microbiome that improve gut health and reduce the need for antibiotics.


Bioenergy:

We offer state-of-the-art enzyme, yeast and fermentation technologies that improve yield and productivity for biofuels and biogas producers. We are in the process of commercializing bio-isobutanol for chemicals and ultimately fuel markets through our 50/50 joint venture with BP, Butamax®. 


Biomaterials:

We’ve learned from nature, mimicking the natural processes of plants and applying that science to make better performing, more sustainable materials previously made from petroleum. This science underpins products already on the market like Sorona®, a fiber made from 37% renewable plant-based ingredients, using 30% less energy and 63% fewer GHG emissions as compared to Nylon 6.

We are also collaborating with Archer Daniels Midland Company to commercially develop furan dicarboxylic methyl ester (FDME) from fructose. This molecule will enable companies to make 100% renewable polymers – including a lighter, higher-performing, renewable alternative to glass bottling that has the potential to significantly cut down on the carbon footprint in beverage packaging.

Food & Beverages:

Our enzyme technologies for brewing, baking and dairy offer solutions that reduce food waste and energy consumption. 


Fabric & Home Care:

We offer technology innovations in laundry and dishwashing that deliver cleaner clothes and dishes, along with energy savings and a better sustainability profile. For example, working collaboratively with Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), we co-developed an award-winning enzyme molecule that achieves the previously impossible: the cleaning power of warm-water washing at cold-water temperatures. Washing four out of five loads of laundry in cold water for one year can save enough energy to power 240,000 U.S. homes.


Microbial Control:

We offer technology that provides long-term viable and sustainable microbial control. For example, SILVADUR™, our award-winning intelligent antimicrobial, keeps textiles fresh and odor-free.


Personal Care:

To help answer increasing consumer demand for a more natural approach to personal care, we have developed a range of natural active ingredients that deliver benefits across skin care, hair care and cosmetics applications. Our GENENCARE® OSMS line is certified 100% plant-based origin.


Textile Processing:

Our enzymes improve the sustainability profile of textile processing, using less water at lower temperatures than conventional processes.
